Who Are We? Say hello to the team... | | Joyce Blane (senior partner) Joyce studied singing and piano at the Royal Academy of Music where she took the opera course. She has sung in opera, operetta, oratorio, musicals, music hall, cabaret and on the radio. She took a break from the profession while her son was growing up and became Musical Director of the Romford Red Triangle Operatic Society conducting many musicals and also concerts in Berlin, Ludwigshafen and Glasgow. Returning to the professional stage in 1984, she appeared in "Carousel" and "Half a Sixpence" at the Shaw Theatre, "Cinderella" in Torquay, "No More Sitting on the Old School Bench" at the Queens Theatre Hornchurch and "Move Over Mrs Markham" and "Murder on the Nile" at the Palace, Westcliff. In 1986 she joined the cast of "Me and My Girl" at the Adelphi Theatre in London's West End, remaining in the show until it closed in January 1993. She took the leading role of the Duchess of Dene in the first repertory production of "Me and My Girl" at the Palace, Westcliff in 1996 and received the prestigious Stella award for best actress of the year for her performance in that show. |
| Andy Kimber (composer & writer) Andy has been composing since the age of 15. He enjoys writing in many different styles, firmly believing that good music is good music and shouldn't be shoehorned into rigid categories. As well as his work with JAN Promotions Andy has written many songs and provided music for Chatterbox (the Norwich Talking Newspaper) and animator Jon Coley's "Simian Land BC". He has been involved with amateur dramatics since 1976, writing, acting, musical-directing, and working in stage management and technical crews. He has been especially active with the multi-award-winning BATS (Brantham Amateur Theatrical Society), where he seems to land mostly comedy roles in spite of his long-held ambition to play the villain! Recently he developed an interest in video editing and has also started work on a novel. |
| Neil Murphie (writer) Neil was born and educated in Scotland. After training as a journalist he spent a time in Europe before settling in England. Poetry, play-writing and the Dramatic Arts have long been high on his list of interests. He acted in plays with the Queens Theatre Club and later joined the Romford Red Triangle Operatic Society where he met Joyce and Andy and has been writing with them for several years. He played leading roles in such varied shows as "The Gondoliers" and "White Horse Inn". One of his favourite parts was that of Cornelius Hackle in "Hello Dolly". In 2002 he enjoyed playing the role of Mr Parchester the family solicitor in "Me and My Girl" at Clacton. |
